Old Drogheda Society

This evening the 5th in the Old Drogheda Society Summer Walk and Talk series takes place when Liam Reilly will be the guide.

Taking in the history of the Newfoundwell - Scarlet Street area, starting at 7.30 pm from Kierans' Corner ( Garvey's Car Park).

Liam will be talking about a wide range of topics including the origin of:

Kierans' Corner

The Glen

Swan Park

Newfoundwell Bridge

The Well Pub

James Flanagan after whom Flanagan's Terrace is named,

Tommy Hanratty,

Garvey's Pub & Cash and Carry, Kelly's Lane, , St Francis Club, Thomas Sandiford, St Janes & St Mark's Terraces,

The Cottage Hospital,

Oulster Lane,

The Fire Station

The old St Patrick's School,

Segraves Field,

The Old Jail,

Morgan's Lane,

Campbell's Shop,

Joe Corcoran the barber,

Slate Row.

The walk and talk will finish at Sunday's Gate.

All are welcome and there is no set charge but small donation to the Old Drogheda Society will be accepted.
