Remembrance Garden, Drogheda – Turning of the Sod

Old Drogheda Society

Invitation

Remembrance Garden, Drogheda – Turning of the Sod

Drogheda Tidy Towns, in conjunction with Louth County Council, have received funding to build a Remembrance Garden at the Buttergate in Drogheda to commemorate the centenary of 1916.

Towns and villages all over Ireland are undertaking similar projects, and in Drogheda we have chosen a garden designed by award winning Irish garden designer - Diarmuid Gavin and interpreted by local company VCL Consultants.

The Buttergate was chosen because of its high profile location and rich history, and to open this fine amenity to the people of Drogheda.

The Turning of the Sod by Cllr. Paul Bell, The Mayor, Borough District of Drogheda takes place tomorrow, Monday 14th March at 12 midday at the Buttergate, Drogheda, Co. Louth.
