Speaker: Professor Lori Beckett, Winifred Mercier Professor of Teacher Education at Leeds Mets. University.
 
Description: Vere Foster of Glyde Court, Ardee, was a nineteenth century philanthropist who established progressive emigration and education schemes in post-famine Ireland. As founder of the INTO in 1868, his legacy offers many valuable lessons for contemporary Irish Education.
 
Admission: free. Voluntary subscriptions accepted.
